Day trips and outings for groups
MUSEUMS
Handicraft Museum and German Epilepsy Museum
A former brewery building in Kork was converted into one of the largest museums in the Ortenau district from 1993 to 2003 through a private voluntary initiative with the support of Kehl town council. There are four floors with exhibits bearing witness to past skilled trades which have died out or have changed. There is also a model depicting the half-timbered houses which are typical of the region (with over 22 models made to scale by hand). The building also houses a toy department, a local history section with an emphasis on the history of Baden and Alsace, and an Epilepsy Museum.

CHURCH VISITS
Graffiti-Kirche “Maria, Hilfe der Christen” Goldscheuer Catholic church in Goldscheuer
Built in 1961, the Catholic church “Maria, Hilfe der Christen” in Goldscheuer was given a makeover in 2011, with the main decorative input coming from the now world-famous street artist Stefan Strumbel from Offenburg. A painting of the Madonna wearing the traditional local “Maschenkappe” headdress stands several metres high on the wall in the organ loft. Other design features include the rays of light emanating from the cross and expanding to fill the space. Stefan Strumbel is associated with the theme of “homeland” in the spiritual sense, and this is reflected in the room in all the major architectural and artistic styles of Christian churches, such as Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, Biedermeier, etc.
- Opening and viewing times: see website; group tours and group visits by arrangement (guided tour only available in german)
- Tour duration: 60 minutes

It is also possible, however, simply to choose a colour, light a candle at the altar and enjoy the silence. There is something for the little ones as well as the options include stories from the Bible for kids and songs which appeal to children.

- The contents also change with the seasons, so it is well worth stopping by every now and again...
