The market comes to Kehl every Tuesday and Friday, taking pride of place in the town centre at the foot of the Friedenskirche church on the impressively large market square.

There is a small but fine selection of regional and seasonal products for sale at the Mutter-Kinzig-Markt market which is on from 9-16 hrs every first Saturday of the month from March to November.

The HanauerLandMarkt market sets the scene for the vibrant colours of autumn and rekindles memories of the Hanauerland district on both sides of the Rhine. A varied programme of events is lined up for visitors on both days with different bands playing music and groups dressed in traditional costume, combining folklore and modernity in a very special way.

Many local farmers and people with arts and crafts businesses come to Kehl for the HanauerLandMarkt market to sell their agricultural produce, artisan goods and handcrafted wares. Freshly picked fruit and vegetables, eggs, bread, cheese, honey, jams and jellies are just some of the products adding to the enjoyment of a visit to the HanauerLandMarkt market. You can also watch straw shoes being made and baskets being woven.

There are cultural performances and samples to taste, keeping the customs from the Hanauerland region alive and bringing a magical atmosphere to the market square. The food stalls serve up regional specialities like Kürbisstriebli pumpkin waffles, pumpkin soup, Hanauerland burgers and Hanauer Bollesupp dumpling soup.

This year the market will be held on 5 and 6 October.

The Frühlingsmarkt spring market is held in the town centre in Kehl on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

The whole family will enjoy strolling through the pedestrian zone and looking at the varied range of stalls, selling everything from household goods to handicrafts.

The Christmas market in Kehl is always held on the second weekend in Advent and it is the perfect occasion for a leisurely stroll and a relaxing browse, with some 45 stalls with festive decorations grouped around the large Christmas tree in front of the Friedenskirche church.

The stalls are mainly run by Kehl clubs, schools and kindergartens selling their sweet, home-made treats like Linzer Torte cake, stollen fruit cake, waffles and Christmas cookies. Those who prefer something savoury can stop for a tarte flambée, Hanauer Bollesupp dumpling soup, raclette or char-grilled bratwurst sausage. Steaming cups of mulled wine and other hot drinks with or without alcohol are welcome winter warmers for young and old alike. There are many stalls selling products made with love, small bags of delicious treats, and handmade crafts.

A variety of Christmas events for the whole family is on the programme on both days. This cosy gathering and the jolly atmosphere on this special weekend in the town centre in Kehl will get you in the mood for Christmas.

The market usually takes place on the second weekend in Advent on the market square in Kehl. 
Trading times are Friday and Saturday from 11-21 hrs and Sunday from 11-19 hrs.

There is a large flea market on the Läger car park twice a month.

Many antique dealers and collectors will come to Kehl on 12 July from all over the south-west of Germany and from Alsace and Switzerland for the Markt der Schönen Dinge antiques market which will be held on the market square from 10-18 hrs.

The treasures on show will include antiques and bric-a-brac from recent centuries, period pieces dating back to the Biedermeier era, art nouveau, art deco, retro designs from the 50s & 60s, and collector’s items from bygone times.
